About the Douglas County Charter of the ABWA in Douglasville, Georgia

The American Business Women's Association is a prestigious national organization established for working women and women business owners.

It is a community where women can be part of a national organization with a local connection, come together to gain career development, and pursue business opportunities while being influenced and mentored by like-minded women who really care.

The Aim of the Douglas County Charter of the ABWA

As women continue to gain more professional freedom, the Association’s aim is to bring together businesswomen from diverse industries and to help them grow as they face new challenges concurrent with the changes in their jobs or in the business world.

Learning business and leadership skills are central to our community. ABWA provides a safe and supportive learning environment for members to take such steps to realize their full potential and gain maximum career growth and employability.

While we are not a university, we do offer members the opportunity to participate in professional development courses and receive tuition reduction scholarships from National University.

In ABWA, we encourage all national members to practice business skills like public speaking, facilitating a meeting, marketing, selling, or writing a business plan by participating in a local ABWA group in their community. Meetings are held monthly. More than 5,000 business/networking meetings are hosted each year in more than 300 cities across the nation. View a local ABWA experience in action. If an ABWA experience is not available in your community, consider taking the lead in starting a new group, and if you don’t have time to add one more meeting to your hectic schedule, join the national organization where you can still enjoy all of the same privileges of membership.

Our Mission

The mission of the American Business Women’s Association is to bring together business women of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.
